old-fashioned

dress and belt: thrifted.  i have to admit, i was skeptical about this dress when laura showed me, but it fits her so well!  i love old-fashioned silhouettes (i own a ton!) and the belt really makes it modern.

hot pink

i love the accessories paired with this bright pink dress; its simple, so the belt and bag don't overwhelm it.  i'm not sure where the dress is from, but i'm pretty sure most of the outfit is thrifted.  one of my favorite things about thrift stores is you can find amazing things with personality; chain stores just don't carry items like these.

meg and brian

this is megan, and below is brian- together with laura and amy they make up one of my favorite families ever!  when i started taking pictures of laura and amy, they both wanted in, although to be fair, brian was slightly pressured into it.  megan is, no lie, going to be a model.  she has perfectly mastered the stare.  she's in her first day of school outfit, which includes a really cool old navy scarf.  brian is in his new sneakers, which i think are really amazing.  if i had any outfits that would work with sneakers, these are the kind i would want.

socks and shoes

i don't have much time to write a lot, but this is laura!  i took the dress she wore to a formal dance last year and dressed it down with a military inspired jacket and socks.  the dress is forever 21, the jacket is h&m, and i don't know where the shoes are from.  once again, i love shoes with socks!  there are more posts with laur to come in the future!

everything is black or white

this girl, no lie, has the best fashion sense out everyone i know.  she's the sister of one of my best friends, and by far the coolest girl in 8th grade.  every time i see her, she's wearing something amazing.  her style is really unconventional, but she does a really good job of owning trends and yet still sticking with outfits that work perfectly with who she is.  to sum it up, i wish i could take a picture of amy in every single outfit she has.  but for now, i'll just have to stick with these.  she's wearing a black tank top with sequin embellishment, studded black shoes, and a black headband.  the shorts she found at a huge yard sale held annually in our town- they're too big, so she rolls them up and belts them high- it looks amazing.  the bracelent she also got at the sale.  by the way- black and white combinations are everywhere this fall; i love the way amy does it here.
